The Periodic Spiral
I recently learned about The Periodic Spiral, a new and interesting way of organizing and understanding the elements. More to come on this as I'm learning about it myself. Click on the graphic to learn more.
5 Boron
Ron has always been boring. He likes crawling into a dark hole and boring into the ground. Ron's idea of swinging involves mining tools. One day he noticed that mixing a bit of borax into the laundry made his work shirts come out brighter and more colorful than normal.
Diamond Dave is the life of the party. When he’s not studying organic chemisty at school or working at the pencil factory, Dave can be seen in a plume of carbon dioxide with a 6-pack and a bag of charcoal at hand.
7 Nitrogen
By day he's Farmer John. By night he goes by a different name: James. James Bond 007. At sun up he's sprinkling nitrogen fertilizer compounds on the back 40, but come sun down he is an international man of mystery disarming (or building) nitroglycerine explosives.
